Sharky Ramos
a.k.a Len has been playing the drums professionally for nigh on 30 years. He has played in many a varying genre from Rock'n'Roll to Hard Rock,Reggae,African, Latin-American,Funk,Soul,Jazz old-timey,thru to Bebop and progressive,small ensemble to BigBand,Popular covers and originals,Country&Western and much more. In fact,he's played in virtually every popular and unpopular musical style known to Western Civilisation......! ( and must be the least recorded superstar of all time ! )
Sharky is a graduate of Melbourne University (B.A @ Victorian College of Arts 1995). He was the inaugural winner of the Ivan Oliver Listening Musician Award 1993.Sharky has played and/or jammed/recorded with such luminaries as Graeme Lyle,Tony Gould,Bob an'son Steve Sedergreen,Tim Neal,Paul Williamson,Matt Kirsch,Captain Spalding Band,James Morrison,Judy Bailey,Julien Wilson,Steve Magnusson,Dene Ford,Julie O'hara, Andy Baylor,Lewis & Young Ensemble and many many many more... Currently he's hittin' the skins for Jack(Hunters&Collectors)Howard and the Long Lost Brothers.(Is there no stopping this guy ???)With the recent acquisition of a Poota and some serious music software, rumour has it that Sharky's no slouch with the bat as a composer too, what with an impending release of not one, not two but three albums due for independent release within the first six months of 2005 ! (sorry no steak knives).
A mixture ofgood-rockin',good dancin' and jivin',live, semi-live and programmed fare that'll set your senses a reelin' for sure.And another rumour circulating is that he's more than an average warbler too with a potential 4th release due later '05, featuring Sharky on vocals ! ! ! (His mother reckons he sings better than Jack ! ! !) Singing favourite songs,all and any genre, daggy & cool...
