"MAG" REVIEW OF LOST HORIZON

“What can you hear in my voice?” Jack Howard asks in the opening cut of his new album. He has a voice like Don Walker – a storyteller’s voice. Howard, best known for his work in Hunters and Collectors, is also a fine songwriter – check out If I Were A Bird, which simply soars, aided by the stellar playing of Jo Schornikow on piano, Kieran Jones on double bass, and Jeremy Hopkins on drums. "Jack Howard has returned with a new band 'The Nightbirds' and a new

set of focussed songs that will surely go down as his most accomplished

From the guitar-based rock of the opener Let Me Live or his signature trumpet talents on both the smoky I have Counted The Ways and the bluesy jazz of My Lucky Day, Howard and his terrific band of Long Lost Brothers have delivered an album that showcases some great local talent.
