Things are gearing up in Brothers-land for the imminent release of Day Of The Dog. The mighty H & C tour is drawing to a close. It’s been a fine adventure but it will be back to reality very soon. No more frenzied sambuca-skulling and nipple-biting for this one for awhile.
Track three on the record is called The Lark Ascends, and it seems to be proving the popular favourite to those that have heard the CD. Three of my closest musical compadres – Rob Hirst, Mark Seymour and Barry Palmer have all said “that’s the one”.
I started shooting a video for it last week. My idea is to film all of the band members in their domestic environments, surrounded by family, playing their instruments, doing their thing. The song has a grand melancholy but very contemporary feel to it. You can find it on the Music page, along with heaps of other music.
Here’s a re-mix of it by local legend, DJ Resting Ruckman.
